How Building Your Brand is Greater Than Just creating a Logo
You’re a business owner, and you’ve got your logo set up. Now you have a couple of regular clients in your following, and you’re ready to go! Right?
Nope! I hate to break it to you but creating your logo in Canva just isn’t going to cut it. That’s because your brand is greater than just a logo. It is much more than that small graphic you happen to stamp on everything.
That’s because a brand is a statement. It’s a feeling. It’s what influences how your audience feels and why they want to work with you.
Think about it! Picture your favorite brand. You know the patterns they use – the colors, the textures, the quality. You can close your eyes and picture an item that your favorite brand makes.
Take Coach, for instance, when I walk into a Coach store I feel excited – I feel happy. I feel energized. I feel powerful. And that’s not just because of some logo that the company made. It’s because they strategically thought of the colors, the quality, and the message that carrying a Coach bag brings!
Now, I want you to think of why you love your favorite brand. It’s your favorite brand because you know you always get your value’s worth. You can trust the brand. You feel great … no – powerful even to represent that brand.
Now, do you see it?
YOUR BRAND IS YOUR STRATEGY
NEWSFLASH: If you don’t have a strategy in place – you don’t have a brand. Branding goes beyond creating a logo. Your brand is what makes you unique. It’s what makes people say yes! I want to invest with you. It’s how you can connect with your ideal audience, and how you get them to recognize you.
Let’s be honest here. If you see somebody on social media, or if you see somebody that doesn’t really have their stuff together are you going to invest in them? The reality is – NO, you’re not. Branding is all about consistent communication and experience. What do you consistently convey to your audience? What kind of experiences do you give them? Your brand isn’t something that happens immediately or overnight. It’s a strategy that stretches over a period of time. The time that has been carefully planned and strategized. It’s important to remember how you will map out what sets you apart from other brands, why you’re trustworthy, and convey your purpose.
So, if you want your brand to give your audience that powerful feeling, there is just one thing that you need to remember: Branding is the message you convey to your audience. When planning your strategy keep it consistent. Have the templates to create familiarity. Use the same colors, and overall voice and feel of your brand. But above all – keep it authentic. Always make sure to connect your brand to your mark and mission.
