How to Save Time on Social Media Using Content Repurposing

In this digital age, social media posts are so vital for improving organic traffic and portraying your brand to your audience. It’s no wonder that business owners are so focused on improving their social media game. But let’s be honest, social media can take up a lot of time. There are so many things to consider, like what your content will be, and if it matches your brand. Whether the copy is saying what you actually want it to say? How about the graphics, are they eye-catching enough? There are so many things to plan and consider, and sometimes social media can feel a bit overwhelming.

Running social media accounts is time-consuming so it’s important to delegate your time with precision and meaning. Only then will your business be able to grow. But how do you decide where to spend your time? And how much time should you be spending on your social media platforms?

I’m going to let you in on my little secret for social media. I repurpose all my content.

What is content repurposing?

Content repurposing is when you take one piece of content or resource and repurpose it into various streams of content. VARIOUS STREAMS OF CONTENT, yes.

For example, social media live videos are great for repurposing! I can take that same content from that video and make it into a blog with graphics. I can even use it to influence my copy for my posts.

When reviewing my content, I can say this was a powerful quote, so I will create some Instagram posts with it. I do not have to plan different content for every single platform. I can use one resource as my theme and repurpose it to fit as my social media accounts’ needs. No need to reinvent the wheel every time. Think to yourself how I can use this to create different streams of content.

So let’s break it down.

  1. Instead of planning hours and hours of content, let’s find a way to repurpose something you’ve already done. Go back into your live videos – analyze which one had great interaction and engagement. Use this as your starting point.
  2. From there, write a blog on the topics you have covered. If there was significant engagement on the video, then you are almost guaranteed to have same great engagement on the blog.
  3. Now pull some powerful quotes from your video and turn them into social media posts. If what you previously said resonated with your audience, chances are they’ll enjoy seeing it again.

Can you see how much time that saves you?

There’s no need to spend hours in front of the computer!

Repurposing content maximizes your impact as a business owner and as a marketer. Not only will you save time, but it will also align all of your content. This will give your audience a clear focus. It’s important for you to be consistent across all your platforms so you can begin to build a relationship with your audience.

Consistency doesn’t have to take hours anymore – just a little content repurposing.
