5 Tips On How You Can Increase Your Local Presence

For small business owners it’s important to engage with their local community. One of the things that I hear all the time is how do I connect with my target audience; how do I connect with my local community.

I’m breaking it down, and I’m giving you the insider information I used for my own business, as well as my clients’ business. You’re getting the exact same tips that allow my clients to scale.

So let’s dive into social media. This is the easiest and most cost-effective way to build your brand awareness. Not only does it let you build a presence, but it also allows you to connect with your audience in an authentic way. Ergo, I’ve compiled a list of 5 strategies to increase your local presence on social media.

1.Network

Building your business is all about networking. Have you ever heard the phrase it’s not what you know, but who you know? It’s true. Sure, it’s not the only thing that will help to scale your business, but it contributes to a huge majority of it.

Networking has changed a bit due to the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Whether it’s over zoom or in person, you still need to build the relationships with others in your field. Having like-minded people around you will not only help to inspire you, but also act as a sounding board and resource for you to learn. So, if you have that zoom call or summit, don’t forget to maintain those relationships. Reach out to those people who were on the call. Ask about what they do – It’s all about learning how to improve, and you can’t do that alone.

Don’t be spammy. No one likes spam. You can’t show up in a group and say, “this is what I do, and what I offer, buy from me now!” Business doesn’t work that way. People don’t want to be sold to, they want authenticity and human connection. Learning about the other business will make them want to learn from you, which could become a collaboration in the future.

2. Facebook Groups

I cannot tell you how valuable a great Facebook group can be. I am part of several. They provide so much value. Not only are you able to be part of a group of people who share a common interest, you are part of a group that gives you an opportunity to promote yourself.

This is a great way of connecting with your target audience. Other people are asking questions and trying to find solutions. You can offer solutions and establish your expertise, or gain from them and use the information at your disposal to improve your business.

3. Facebook Ads

Facebook ads work when they are intentional and strategic. Facebook ads are a great and cost-effective way to promote your business. Use this opportunity to showcase your business in an authentic way. Stand out from the crown by being your true authentic self. Showcase what your brand is all about, who you work with and your purpose. The more familiar your brand is with your target market, the more likely they are to want to buy from you.

4. Engage with your audience.

Comment on people’s posts, like and share their resources. The more you engage with your ideal clients, the more familiar you will become. Ensure that you stay visible and on top of their minds.

Encourage people to like your Facebook Page. This gives you an opportunity and platform to engage with current or potential clients. Build a relationship with your audience by asking them questions. Get to know what they like, what they need, and how they want to receive or use your services. This is the best low-cost marketing strategy that you should be taking advantage of today.

5. Share with your audience.

On Facebook, you can spread the word about your business and converse with your existing and potential customers. But do not use Facebook to be spammy. You’ll have much greater success if you share information about your business that is helpful and interesting to others rather than try to sell to people all the time.

Take advantage of the new features. Use your stories to show your audience what happens behind the scenes. Do you have a new launch? Share it! Enhance the anticipation. Share it to other pages, to your personal page – expand the circles! This builds your credibility and establishes your expertise. Remember that fostering long-term relationships with other users is what is going to help your business grow.

These are all things that you can start implementing TODAY! It’s sometimes the simplest strategies that are the most effective. Comment below, tell me what other strategies have worked for you in the past, or which ones are working great now!
